MEDITEST

History

A technical and personal adventure

A few years after the development of medical physics in France, more than three decades ago, professionals began to seriously consider need to monitor devices using ionizing radiation. This became all the more important as technological innovations were emerging, and the use of X-rays in medical imaging was increasing.

It was in this context that Meditest was founded in 1984. The company then specialized in electronic and scientific equipment for nuclear power.

In the early 2000s, the company moved towards quality control for technical platforms used in medical imaging, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, and research. It equipped many operators with verification equipment for their mammography material.

In 2007, the company was taken over by Bruno Torrès, a 41-year-old HEC alumnus with 18 years of experience in medical imaging, including at the head of an international group. Bruno was committed to an entrepreneurial dynamic, and he gave Meditest a new dimension.

A true visionary, Bruno developed the company’s activities along its original business lines and developed new activities in related fields. As a result, in 2013, he created Medix Lab, the first French secondary metrology laboratory for low-energy X-ray calibration, under the auspices of the CEA-LNE-LNHB, national metrology laboratory for ionizing radiation.

A pioneer in quality control in medical imaging, and capitalizing on nearly 30 years of experience, Meditest is at the forefront of innovation and meets the increasingly demanding regulatory framework imposed by the sector.

From MEDITEST to MEDIX LAB…

In 2012, MEDITEST moved to Buc (Yvelines), in the heart of Saclay-Orsay’s high-tech hub, where a number of universities, research centers, and industries, including the CEA (Atomic Energy Commission) are grouped together. Meditest operates in the market of medical imaging quality control. Stakeholders benefit from the positive effects that result from the continuous strengthening of regulatory constraints. The impact of that strengthening has had a powerful effect on the health sector and particularly on the medical imaging market.

In 2013, as a visionary, Meditest created the first French metrology secondary laboratory dedicated to low-energy X-ray calibration, Medix Lab, under the auspices of the CEA-LNE-LNHB.
