Radiation protection


Radiation protection is one of ASN’s priorities. The three fundamental principles of radiation protection are:

  1. The justification of ionizing radiation sources used;
  2. The optimization, or the search for, minimum exposure;
  3. Exposure limitation.

Radiation protection is defined by French law. Institutions having an ionizing radiation source must comply with the Public Health Code and Labor Code. The implementation of the Public Health Code comes from the ASN with the support of the French Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN).
The regulation is very strict and requires regular monitoring, which MEDITEST effectively handles by making the appropriate control equipment available to professionals.
